Terms of service
Last updated 28 July 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
mapvue is operated by MapVue Corp ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it.
2. What the service does
mapvue runs searches against Google Maps, Bing Local, and Apple Maps local results from a grid of coordinates around a business you nominate, records where that business appears at each point, and presents the result as a map, a set of figures and a report you can share with your own clients.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for Google, Microsoft, or Apple. Results come from third-party search-data providers and reflect what those providers returned at the time of the scan.
3. What we do not promise
Local search results vary between identical searches and change without notice. A position we record is a measurement, not a guarantee, and an individual grid point can move by several places run to run. We do not promise that using mapvue will improve any ranking, and the recommendations in a fix list are derived from the scan's own geometry. They are suggestions based on measurement, not professional advice.
The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and limit our total liability to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
4. Your account
- Sign-in uses a link sent to your email address. Anyone with access to that inbox can sign in, so treat it as you would a password.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including the actions of people you invite.
- You must not resell access to the dashboard itself. Reselling the reports you produce, under your own branding, is exactly what the product is for.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scan businesses in order to harass, defame or impersonate them;
- attempt to access another customer's data, or to circumvent the plan limits or spend ceilings;
- automate the interface in a way that imposes load beyond ordinary use of the plan you are on;
- use the service in breach of any applicable law, or of the terms of the search providers whose data reaches you through it.
We may suspend an account that is doing any of these, and will tell you why.
6. Plans, billing and cancellation
- Trials run for 14 days and need no card. When one ends, scanning pauses; nothing is deleted.
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Prices are exclusive of any tax we are required to collect, which Stripe calculates at checkout.
- Cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. We do not pro-rate part months, and we do not bill you again.
- After cancellation your data stays readable for 30 days, then becomes eligible for deletion under the retention schedule in our privacy policy.
- If a payment fails, scanning pauses rather than data being removed. Updating the card resumes it.
7. Your content and ours
You keep everything you put into mapvue: your business list, your keywords, your branding and your logo. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store that material, render it into your reports, and show it to people you share a report link with.
The scan data we produce about a business is yours to use with your clients. The software, the interface and the report templates remain ours.
8. Report share links
A share link is an unguessable URL, and anyone holding it can read that report without signing in. That is deliberate, because it is how your client opens it. Revoking a link from the dashboard deletes it and any PDF behind it immediately. Treat a live link as public, and revoke it when an engagement ends.
9. Changes
We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you we will email the account owner before it takes effect. Continuing to use mapvue after that means you accept the new terms.
